RE:IMAGINE is the Corporate Innovation Exchange, hosted by the Venture Café Global Institute (VCGI) and developed as a direct result from feedback from global innovation leaders in industry, government and academia. Through Venture Café’s convening powers, RE:IMAGINE facilitates deeper connections among corporate innovators around the world. 

We invite you to connect and engage with your global innovation peers in a creative, collaborative, and PowerPoint-free experience that is part conference, part retreat, part workshop, and all Venture Café

The RE:IMAGINE concept is based on Venture Café’s mission: Connecting Innovators to Make Things Happen.

Connecting (Structure)

Over the course of three days, attendees will participate in an ecosystem tour and kick-off reception, connect during several engaging sessions, create tools to deploy after the event, and network and collaborate with peers from other global companies and innovative institutions. 

This three day event will be facilitated by the team from Filament and be structured in the following way: 

Day 1 – Connect & Explore

  • Ecosystem Tour 0930 to 1600 (lunch included)
  • Kickoff Dinner 1800 to 2100

Day 2 – The Business of Innovation / Making Innovation Work

  • RE:IMAGINE Sessions 0930 to 1600 (lunch included)
  • Venture Cafe Gathering 1700 to 2000

Day 3 – Creating An Innovation Community

  • RE:IMAGINE Sessions 0930 to 1600 (lunch included)

Innovators (Audience) 

This event is invite-only and focused on companies and institutions connected in some way to Venture Café or its strategic partners (CIC, Captains of Innovation, etc). Attendees are part of innovation or strategy teams and interested in developing global relationships. Each company is encouraged to bring up to three people to the event. We recommend each company’s delegation to include the following roles: Leader, Operator, Protégé.

Make Things Happen (Agenda) 

Day 1 – Connect & Explore 

The first day will include a tour of the Boston and Cambridge innovation ecosystem, time to connect with fellow attendees, and dinner to launch RE:IMAGINE.

Day 2 – The Business of Innovation / Making Innovation Work

The second day focuses on ways attendees can leverage the global network of corporate innovators and build relationships.

How to create a culture of innovation and drive the innovation mindset throughout your organization

Building Buy-In

Move from “Change Management” to “Change Advocacy” to build a better case for innovation within your organization

Sharing Sessions

Multiple small-group “show-and-tell” peer-learning breakouts to share what’s working (and what isn’t) in your innovation efforts. This session/day will conclude with the group attending and participating in the Venture Café Gathering in Kendall Square.

Day 3 – Creating An Innovation Community

During the final day the focus shifts to specific actions you can take that will translate into a stronger local innovation community.

Community-Building Best Practices

Because a strong local innovation community can positively impact your business, you’ll work with others to learn what’s working in other cities and how you might apply those lessons to improve and grow your own city’s innovation ecosystem.

Designing for Innovation  

Leverage your participation in the Venture Café Global Network by exploring collaborative experiments with worldwide partners designed to multiply the local impact you’ll make as soon as you return home.

Community Challenge Hackathon

Apply your organizational experiences and innovation strengths to solve community-building and engagement challenges with your peers around the globe.

Leadership Lending Library

Carve time out of your collective experiences for quick one-on-ones with innovation leaders who’ve “been there and done that.” 

Unreasonable Requests and Extraordinary Offers

Close your time together with permission to make big requests and offer amazing help with your new global innovation peers.


The event is limited to 150 attendees, so register now. Beyond access to all sessions and materials, the registration for RE:IMAGINE includes: 

  • Transportation during the ecosystem tour
  • Dinner reception on Wednesday
  • Lunch Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
  • An informal wrap-up happy hour on Friday
  • Access to the post-event Slack channel for attendees only (this will allow you to continue the relationships developed during RE:IMAGINE).

We recommend flying into Boston’s Logan Airport and staying in the Seaport area. The Seaport is easy to navigate via public transit or any of the ride-sharing apps like Lyft or Uber.
